Red Ranger Isekai Episode 7 Recap and Thoughts

Page content

In the last episode, Princess Teltina was sent to the Sorcery Tower to heal her after she absorbed excess mana. Following her recovery, the Princess, along with Togo, Lowji, and Yhidra, met King Avallost to discuss how to handle the mana seed situation. Meanwhile, Yhidra and Shau’ha had a heated discussion about magic regulation in their society. Before they reconciled, though, Shau’ha suggested visiting a desert to continue their mana seed hunt.

Recap

Togo, Yhidra, Lowji, and Princess Teltina endured the scorching heat of the desert to visit the Sun Forest, where the ancient elves live. There were reports of clashes between the elves and people living in neighboring settlements. These elves, however, may possess information on both the ancient hero and a uniquely gifted elf.

The Sun Forest was an area full of giant cacti enveloping the forest. The forest reminded Togo of Kizuna Yellow (Emily Tobihoshi), who loved cacti and had a bit of a prickly personality.

People said the forest was full of flora until the Demon Queen turned it into a desert after its inhabitants angered her. The cold forest air caused Teltina and Yhidra to shed their cloaks.

Shortly after, Yhidra was spiked by a cactus on her ring finger, which worried Togo as the wound might get infected. Togo covered her wound with a bandage, which made Yhidra love-struck as the bandage resembled an engagement ring. Togo was utterly oblivious to Yhidra’s feelings, which Teltina and Lowji noticed.

Yhidra was then captured by one of the natives in the Sun Forest. As he got worried about Yhidra’s safety, Togo transformed into Kizuna Red and chased after the elf who had kidnapped Yhidra. He tried to use Turbo Huddle to go after him in mid-air, but the resulting gust from the gadget dispersed cactus spikes toward Red, hurting him. As aerial flight is impossible, he proceeded to chase after the elf on foot.

Teltina suggested going after Togo, but a group of elf archers stopped them. When Lowji mentioned pursuing an elf with strange powers, his lack of diplomacy made the elves think he was going after Amen. Thus, the elves attacked by launching cactus needles towards Lowji and Teltina.

Lowji fought back by transforming his Holy Sword into Glutsylph to blow away the needles and the elves, defeating them instantly. He then interrogated one of the fallen archers, demanding more information about the individual known as Amen. Raniya’s arrival interrupted her.

Raniya then transformed into Amen, an Egyptian-themed Kamen Rider reference, to avenge her friends and protect their forest.

Meanwhile, Red watched in amazement as the elf skillfully dodged all the needles while maneuvering through the forest. Seeing that Red was having trouble catching up, Yhidra tested her bracelet to see if their research worked. The bracelet successfully executed an Emergency Kizuna Warp, instantly transporting Red to Yhidra’s vicinity.

Red then used his Hurry Arts: Bond Bind to launch metallic bandages at the elf to bind him. He then successfully caught Yhidra as she was falling to the ground.

The revelation showed that Yhidra and Togo’s overnight research at the Sorcery Tower produced the Emergency Kizuna Warp. The emergency warp proved invaluable in successfully rescuing Yhidra from the clutches of the elf.

Meanwhile, Amen challenged Lowji to a duel. Teltina noticed that Raniya’s Amen could resemble the otherworldly power that Togo uses. Lowji realized that the elves didn’t possess any mana seeds.

The thought that the Amen form came from a mana seed offended Raniya. She revealed that the power passed down from Amen the First, the otherworld warrior who fought with the Hero.

The two fiercely fought one another when Teltina tried to interrupt the battle, as there’s no point in fighting. However, Raniya fought to protect the forest and avenge her comrades who got hurt.

Since Raniya didn’t have any golem, referring to the Maximum Kizuna Kaiser, Lowji thought she’s weaker than Togo. Lowji absorbed Raniya’s mana, thanks to the Hero Sword. With this discovery, Raniya used the Scarab relief to fight Lowji from afar.

Raniya then used Scarlet Rampage to hurl a gigantic ball of flames towards Lowji. He then countered it by turning the Hero Sword to its Dragwrath form, cutting the flames in half.

Lowji and Teltina tried to escape, so Raniya used the Falcon Relief to chase after them.

Determined to defeat Raniya, Lowji used the Lustnoir form to launch a decisive slash. Raniya returned to his Sphinx Relief form to launch a Spirit Coffin kick to counter the attack.

But before the attacks connect, Togo arrived with his Maximum Kizuna Kaiser to stop the fighting.

Raniya then de-transformed, still in shock about Togo’s current form. Lowji asked Togo if Raniya’s powers resembled his. Togo responded that her powers differ from the Kizuna Five’s.

Raniya realized that Togo’s form looked similar to the legendary red warrior in the prophecy. She and the elves apologized to Togo for their rudeness. She also asked Togo’s help in saving their forest.

The four adventurers then visited the Elf Village of Lughsim, where a community of elves live. After taking the adventurers to the village, Raniya introduced herself in a shy way, which was a stark contrast to her bashful demeanor as Amen. To avoid self-consciousness in battle, she shows her aggression to cover her true feelings.

They explored the temple that housed the prophecy inscribed on a stone tablet. The tablet shows a depiction of a legendary red warrior, similar to Kizuna Red. A warrior from a different world appears to safeguard the forest whenever threatened.

When Yhidra noticed that the prophet who joined the Hero wrote the script, it reminded Togo of someone familiar to him.

Raniya explained that the forest was in danger because of Azir, Kukja’s lord, who wields a mana seed. Teltina noted that Kukja’s economy relied on magic crystal mining. The recent lord passed away because of a rebellion years ago.

Azir’s Privilege Spell could turn anything into sand and control them at will. He currently focused on invading the forest, which gave the elves a lot of trouble, as even Amen could only slow him down. He then proposed to surrender Amen to him to save the forest.

Knowing this, Togo eagerly offered his help in saving the forest. Teltina also offered help, especially when mana seeds are involved.

When Togo asked about the prophet, Raniya only said that he was part of the Hero’s party, just like the first Amen. The Great Elder would’ve known the prophet, but he was asleep for a long time.

Meanwhile, Azir and his men wait outside the town, waiting for a chance to strike.

Final Thoughts

This episode was an action-packed one! I really love the fight and chase scenes in this episode! We also get to see one of Kizuna Red’s hidden skills: Bond Bind which was invaluable in binding targets. I wonder if there are still skills and abilities waiting to be revealed.

Aside from this, we learned that the BOND MERGER joke was not a subtle hint of sex, but an overnight research on Emergency Kizuna Warp. The warp was highly effective in summoning Kizuna Red when Yhidra was in danger. I wonder if she could create more Kizuna Warp Bands for the rest of the team.

The highlight of this episode was Lowji vs Amen! Just like I said earlier, she was a walking Kamen Rider reference, complete with form changes and rider kicks! I love the Egyptian theme. The forms looked so beautiful as well! I love how the transformation trinket is a Kamen Rider OOO/Birth reference while her Rider Kick is Crimson Smash from Kamen Rider 555! Can’t wait to see more of her forms!

I honestly wonder about the prophet who wrote the mural in this episode. Was it the sixth ranger, considering she was a prominent character in Togo’s past? Or is it someone else? I can’t wait to find out!

Overall, it’s a pretty great episode!
